“Here we are cutting the Red Ribbon to open the Center. I was Mayor of WeHo when we created the site and opened. I walked into the rooms beaten and defeated in 1996. I saw the 12 steps, 12 traditions and heard the 12 promises. It all seemed overwhelming. But there was one phrase that caught my eye. And it is now lives on a plaque at the Center’s front door because it is my experience : “TRUDGING THE ROAD OF HAPPY DESTINY”
