Recovery month 2026 Azul Love

Gratitude lives in the people who welcomed us, the spaces that held us & the moments that reminded us we were never alone.

Recovery month 2026

“As a Mexican immigrant and a transgender woman, I began struggling with addiction at a very young age. After years of using alcohol, ecstasy, crystal meth, cocaine, and heroin, I found recovery through Van Ness Recovery House, where I learned tools to help me stay clean and face the feelings that once led me back to old behaviors. The WeHo Recovery Center has become an important part of my ongoing recovery. It gives me a safe, supportive community and helps me continue building a life rooted in connection, serenity, and self-acceptance. Through Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, and the support of recovery spaces like the Recovery Center, I have found a new way to live. What I love most about the WeHo Recovery Center is that it reminds me I am not alone. Recovery has given me the gift of looking in the mirror and seeing the wonderful, amazing transgender woman I am—without drugs and without repeating the same behaviors while expecting different results. I am grateful for the peace, dignity, and hope I have found, and for the opportunity to live as a healthy and contributing member of my community and society. Mi nombre es Azul Love y voy de paso por la vida.”
