Some of the greatest gifts of recovery are the friendships we build, the love we discover & the hope we carry forward.
Recovery month 2026
“I think the West Hollywood Recovery Center is amazing. I think it’s awesome that the city designates those buildings for us. We’re so lucky in LA to have 3,000 meetings a week that we can go to and West Hollywood is a big part of that. So I’d just like thank the cityfor designating these spaces for us. The Log Cabin is where I first got sober. Somebody took me there, and I was like, “Oh these are all the people that I used to party with and now they are sober.” That inspired me to keep coming back. My friend who went to Friends La Brea for harm reduction, he brought me to the Log Cabin for my first meeting. I remember would show up late and leave early. Then finally, I was like, “You know what? I want what these people have…” And I just stood up and asked for help, and that started my journey in sobriety. Obviously, the cabin has a really special place in my heart because of that. I remember when my job changed, I did a lot of the noon meetings, which I really love. I also love the variety. You have the 7:30 a.m. meetings the Log Cabin where you’ll see some of the celebrities, and then you have some of the fun youth meeting, and of course, the Friday and Sunday meetings at the cabin. You have a mixed meeting of straight and gay. I’m really, really grateful that we have these spaces.”
