“When I think back, the Log Cabin was the first LGBTQ meeting hall that I ever attended in 2018 during my treatment stay at Cri-Help. I remember seeing other addicts and alcoholics who were clean, had nice shoes, and even had car keys. Those small details really stood out to me because I had been living in chaos for so long. The people there were friendly and welcoming, and it felt like they weren’t expecting anything in return. In prior years, my experience with others had always been very transactional so the kindness threw me off at first. I’m so thankful for safe spaces like the West Hollywood Recovery Center. Thanks to everyone who keeps the doors open and who keeps coming back.”
