Every story of recovery carries a legacy of hope.
What was once given to us becomes a gift we can pass forward.
Recovery month 2026
“Recovery gave me the chance to live honestly and authentically: to come out as an intersex, transmasculine man and become fully myself—a queer Brit who is now an American citizen, with an X sex marker on my US passport.
I’ve been sober since 2001, and I know how much it matters to have safe places where people can find community, support and hope. The Log Cabin is a home and a focal point for recovery in Los Angeles. People from all over the world come to its meetings when they visit LA—a beacon of light and a constant reminder that none of us has to do this alone.”
