Gratitude lives in the quiet victories: another day, another meeting & another chance to begin
Recovery month 2026
“The WeHo Recovery Center is a safe space for those suffering from addiction. A lot of cities don’t offer such a program. I come to three meeting a week at the center. I love that there is a community at this space. The earliest memories I can think of about the Recovery Center is the Old Timers meeting at the old space before the remodel. That meeting would take up the whole building, and you’d get there over an hour and a half early to get a seat. I remember being surprised when I saw celebrities at these meetings, but I mostly remember feeling safe. I’m originally from Massachusetts and it’s a very cloudy, very rainy state. I remember meetings in church basements where people don’t clap, people don’t have cakes and it’s just not celebratory. So then I came to the Recovery Center in West Hollywood where we celebrate, we clap and it’s very up-lifting. I love that we try to be happy about recovery.”
