I sought treatment, and I went to a gay treatment center–something that I was hesitant about at first, just because of my upbringing and the way I was raised and a certain level of discomfort. But in the end, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made, and the connections and the people I’ve met through the Recovery Center have been monumental to my road to maintaining long-term sobriety, and it’s been such a positive outlet in my life. And it’s something that I never in a million years would have imagined myself to be involved in.
